This doe may not be flashy, but she sure is a sleek beauty with a great udder. She throws very hardy kids, and is a great mother. I intended to start milking right away this year, but had a structure failure under the heavy snow load, so had to move some of our animals around and I gave up my milking area for temporary housing. Since she kidded a single buckling (he's gorgeous and available!) in early February and she wasn't milked until late April, one side has dried off for this season, but I'll post some photos of her udder the day after she kidded (they're not cleaned up or fancy, but they're what I've got).
She's a wonderfully independent doe and an easy keeper. Some days she runs to the stand, other times she plays hard to catch, but once on it she's there she's got great milk stand manners. She's a 2nd generation (F2) Mini Nubian out of excellent lines on both sides.
If you're looking to add some great milking genetics to your herd,
this gal will do it!
If I had known this would be the only photos I would have time to take, I would have cleaned her up and gotten a better angle. Her Dam won Best Udder in Show and is a Finished Milk Champion.
This is her 2nd freshening and I was blown away when I saw how full, round, and well attached her udder was from day one of this freshening. She's also got large, easy to milk teats with ample orifices.
I've kept a lot of these genetics in my herd for exactly this reason, the udders and milk quality are exceptional. She was born on our farm, is out of triplets, and her male sibling was retained and sired two sets of triplets for us this season. I've also retained her dam, a half brother, her brother, and two does out of her brother so it's time to share the bounty with someone else!
I've got a LOT of goats in milk, and a cow about to calf, so will be drying off a few to reduce my workload. After all, I'm just one person doing the milking for the entire herd and can only do so much. If you'd love to have fresh milk this season and are interested in adding her to your herd, please send us a message through the "Contact Us" button! I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have to see if she's a good fit!
